Wilson County Educated, Wilson County Focused
I am a local Lebanon native. As a graduate of Lebanon High School and both L.S.S.D and Wilson County Schools, I know what it means to have pride in local schools and community. Our schools are a launching point for the kids of our community to develop what our community will mean to them. Lately, the adult focus and concern has shifted so drastically that our schools, teachers, and students are not receiving the support and educational opportunities they deserve.
A supported, well-trained and educated, professional educator directly, positively impacts our kids, families and community. If elected, I promise to explore innovative strategies to attract, reward, and retain our wonderful, professionally trained, educators.
Funding for our community and public schools is a priority of mine. I believe that family input is important in a kid's education, but more so, ensuring that our local schools have the funding they need ensures that our families have their baseline education needs met. If elected, I promise to prioritize funding streams to ensure the general infrastructure behind our schools, teachers are competitively compensated, and our students have unique opportunities to expand their knowledge and skills.
I have built my career supporting education and the crossroads of education and industry. I have worked for the Tennessee Department of Education, the Tennessee Board of Regents, SkillsUSA (a Career and Technical Student Organization), and Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Within all of those roles, I have been able to directly support our local schools, with the last endeavor supporting our Mt. Juliet High School Health Science Students experience job shadowing at Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital.
Join me to bring our community back to education and our education back to community. Join me in brining education back to basics.
